If I attempt to renew a subscription early by pressing the “Renew Now” button, any recurring coupons seem to get applied twice.

I have no additional plugins installed. It is an entirely stock install with the following items only:

    • WordPress: 5.0.3
    • WooCommerce: 3.5.4
    • WooCommerce Subscriptions: 2.4.7
    • Storefront Theme: 2.4.2

This only seems to happen when there are two or more products within the subscription.

I have tried setting up my coupon as both a “recurring product % discount” and “recurring product discount“… Both types are effected.

Under “usage restrictions” for the coupon, I have set the product to be only one of the two products in my cart. If I leave this option blank then the coupon will be applied to everything in the cart (as expected). So with only one product set to receive the coupon and two products within the subscription, if I “Renew Now” the coupon amount seems to be doubled.

I will try adding a third product to the subscription and see if the coupon amount stays at double or if it gets applied a third time…

So with three products within the subscription AND only one of them matching the product “usage restriction” of the coupon… The discount is applied three times instead of just once when a user pressed the “Renew Now” button.

This leads me to believe that something is broken with the way that usage restrictions are handled with coupons.

Is there a fix for this bad behavior?

This forum is for issues about the core WooCommerce plugin. I’m afraid support for other plugins and paid extensions is not provided here.

If you have an active subscriptions for WooCommerce Subscriptions, you can submit a support request at WooCommerce.com. Login to your account there, and head to this page to file your request:

    Whatever…

It is still helpful for people that use the software to be able to find information.

After contacting ProsPress support they confirmed this is a bug in their subscription plugin that will hopefully be fixed in a future version release. As of WooCommerce Subscriptions: 2.4.7 it is broken.

    Hi @micster,

I’m glad the corresponding developer was able to confirm the bug.

    Thanks for sharing!
