I am creating a theme that uses woocommerce and I have run into a pretty basic problem.

On the shop page the content is automatically loaded including a sidebar. There doesn’t seem to be any way to edit the sidebar. The docs say that you should use blocks to build a sidebar, but that would leave me with 2 sidebars. The products are also added automatically so there is no way to adjust it’s layout in relation to a block made sidebar.

Also, the product page is auto generated with a sidebar that I do not want, how do I get rid of it?

Furthermore, I’d like to understand your site properly, can you please share your System Status Report, that will help us further troubleshoot.

You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it into your reply here.

    Hi @xue28,

I figured out that the sidebar can only be edited if you install the ‘Classic Widgets’ plugin, or by converting the theme to Full Site Editing.

I have gone with the latter, so I can assemble it with blocks now.

However, one question I have is, how do I override the woocommerce template files from within my theme?
I see the files are located here in the woo plugin: \packages\woocommerce-blocks\templates\templates\
Where do I put these in my theme so they will override those defaults?

    Hi there @user1901,

You can find a detailed guide on overriding templates here: https://woocommerce.com/document/template-structure/

Please note that this is outside the scope of our support, so the help we can provide is limited.

    HI @iliadio

Yeah, I already saw that. But it does not mention the html block templates which are in a different folder, as mentioned above.

Is it possible to override those? If so, I just need to know the location in my theme to put them.
