Hello, I am receiving an “unexpected server error” when attempting to buy a shipping label.

    Quick Breakdown:
    1. Customer places an order on my website.
    2. I get the order, go to the order’s page in “Woocommerce>Orders”
    3. I click the button that says “Create Shipping Label”
    4. Origin Address is good, Destination address is good, Packaging is good.
    5. When I click “Use these packages” and it moves to the 4th step “Shipping Rates” an error pops up that says “Unexpected Server Error.”

    Please help! Thanks!

  • Hmm, I do see some past issues mentioning that error in our issue tracker here:

    https://github.com/Automattic/woocommerce-services/search?q=Unexpected+Server+Error+is%3Aissue&type=Issues

… but those were all resolved long ago.

Could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

Also, are there any JavaScript errors in your browser’s console when you run into this error? You can find guidance for checking this here, if you need it:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/advanced-browser-troubleshooting/#javascript-errors

Keep in mind that you’ll need to have the console open *before* triggering the error to catch the messages. ??

    Let us know, thanks!

I just had a similar issue printing a USPS label.
My solution was to open the link in firefox and I was able to create the PDF and print it from there. my normal Browser is Chrome. I am running the latest version of chrome.
Please fix this issue for chrome as it took forever for firefox to load up my site and get the label printed.

@natehunter00 I can’t think of why our plugin would fail to open a PDF in one browser vs. another, but if that issue continues to be a problem for you, please open a new thread and we can try to assist.

@destinykucko We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

Hi all, this ended up being a securi firewall issue. I had to whitelist my IP. Thanks for your help!
