    Hi,
Issue in Woocommerce Shipping Calculation with Paypal

Currently Using WooCommerce for cake store and using paypal for payment gateway.

I have created $5 discount for store pickup. So ideally a $50 product should be $45. That reflects in the website.

But when user goes to payment via paypal, it still shows $50.

Any suggestions how to override shipping calculations of paypal on Woocommerce?

I saw many articles on google but cant find the appropriate solution.

I also checked the box on override allow transaction-based postage values to override the profile postage settings listed above (if profile settings are enabled), but with no luck.

Kindly provide the solution for the same.

    Thanks.

    Hi @malati1993

WooCommerce 2.6+ sends shipping costs as a ‘real’ shipping line item via PayPal’s API. If your PayPal account has shipping rules set up within it, these will take over and remove the cost WooCommerce sends across.

To resolve you must remove all shipping rules setup on the PayPal account side or disable them using this method:

Update:- We put -$5 in the local pickup cost section in woocommerce shipping.

I think woocommerce local pickup is picking up negative cost that is being inputted by us but it is not reflecting in paypal checkout

How to give discount in the cost rather than in percentage for local pickup???

We are confirmed that this issue is due to paypal & negative cost we input ( because we want to provide discount for store pickup/localpickup) which is not reflecting in paypal checkout.

So the issue is with negative cost ( -$5) in the local pickup option which is not getting picked up by paypal. What changes must be made in paypal to calculate neagative values..

    Hi @malati1993

I would recommend offering a coupon to your customers that select local pick up.

Or you could set the product price at $45 and then charge a flate rate of $5 for those who need shipping and don’t choose local pick up.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

I too have been having this issue. I noticed it last month when I created a coupon that offered a flat discount combined with free shipping. The shipping charges were taken off at the checkout but when the customer paid through PayPal the shipping charges were there. I called PayPal who states they go by the information that is sent to them. I also noticed that the charge was incorrect. It was a shipping cost that I no longer have active. I changed it a long time ago so I’m curious as to where the information is being pulled? My guess is that it’s buried in the code somewhere. Now I’m noticing on a free shipping coupon that has been active for quite some time, some times it works and some times it doesn’t, specifically if customer enters their 9 digit zip code instead of their 5 digit zip code. All of this started last month after the last upgrade. I’ve had to refund so many charges it’s embarrassing. HELP!

    Hi @mzcantankerous

Can you please open a new thread for this issue.

I have a smiliar problem. We have negative shipping costs due to a discount for local pickup.
