• Hi, in a previous topic about this plugin:

    https://woocommerce.com/products/shipment-tracking/

…it was stated: It just separate tracking numbers out of the note and add a link to the carrier for tracking. If you don’t use this plugin, the tracking number will go in the Order Note

Just to check, a link will show up in customer’s woo account automatically linking to tracking service/website of carrier (for example, UPS)?

Also, the shipping tracking plugin adds a link somehow to the woo emails. Will your plugin integrate with the feature and automatically make that link lead to tracking service (UPS, etc)?

I’m just trying to see how everything works before I go and purchase woo shipping tracking plugin. Thanks for any clarification.

    Hello Andrew,

Yes you are correct, the plugin makes the tracking number go to a special widget on the order page (in the backend) instead of the customer note

Yes, it will link the tracking to UPS or other

Yes, a link is added by this plugin in the emails, I believe on completed order, so your customer can click on the link and track their packages.

Let me know if you have other questions

    Olivier,

Your description does not agree with what I see in my store, which is (as of this writing) as follows:

The tracking number does appear on the emailed receipt to the customer, but it is not a clickable link.

The tracking number does appear on customer’s Order Updates screen, , but it is not a clickable link.

The tracking number does appear in the Woocommerce admin order screen, but only in the notes.

    hello,

I think you installed the wrong plugin, just be sure to install this one
    Woocommerce Shipment Tracking (By WooCommerce)

I know another plugin has exactly the same name but it was not made by Woocommerce

Please check and let me know

    Oliver,

I do not have any plugin containing the word “shipment” and the only plugin containing “tracking” is for Google Analytics.

I installed ShipWorks Connector for Woocommerce. The purpose was to get updates from Shipworks into Woocommerce.

Are you saying that Shipment Tracking by WooCommerce is required?

    Hello Philipp,

per default, our plugin add the tracking number in the notes.

If you want it to a specific location and be sure it’s on the email and clickable, you need to install this plugin as well:
    Woocommerce Shipment Tracking (By WooCommerce)

    Thank you
    olivier

It would make far more sense for the plugin to put it in the existing tracking number field where it belongs.

    Hello,
per default in Woocommerce there is no field for it, you might have a field if you use another plugin. You might want to switch the plugin by a plugin compatible with our plugin

@advancedcreation – I am the one that originally started this post. I recently purchased the original WooCommerce Shipment Tracking plugin, mentioned above. Do you have any suggestions for how to configure settings to make this plugin work properly? Of course I read the knowledgebase on Woo, but I wasn’t sure if there is something I need to do to make this work with your plugin properly. Thank you for any clarification.

@andrew55 – I came here looking for the same instructions and found your post. Finding none, I forged ahead.

Once I installed/activated Woocommerce Shipment Tracking (By WooCommerce), the tracking data began to flow from the notes into Woocommerce tracking fields without any additional setup on my part.

The only “tracking” issue that remains now is that the connector does not trip the Completed event, and completion emails are not sent. This means that Order completion emails must be sent from Shipworks and do not match the other order emails sent to customers.

@pldoolittle I would contact @advancedcreation because I’m not getting this error. The connector trips the change in status (in WooCommerce) for me. I believe you can even call them – they are very good at providing support.
