Hello jpsvensson,
Thank you for contacting WooCommerce support.
I understand you are facing a problem where WooCommerce setup wizard restarts once you have finished setting it up.
I appreciate you for taking the steps to solve this problem.
Creating a staging site is a good step for effective troubleshooting.Since you have already determined that the problem occurs only with the WooCommerce plugin and a default theme, I suspect WooCommerce was installed incorrectly. This happens rarely, and I am here to help you resolve this issue.
On the staging site, I recommend uninstalling WooCommerce and removing all the data.
This guide will help you with advanced steps for removing all the data.
https://developer.woocommerce.com/docs/uninstall-and-remove-all-woocommerce-data/After that, reinstall the WooCommerce and check if the issue persists.
Let me know how it goes.Best regards.
Hi,
Thanks for looking into my problem. To completely remove WooCommerce and all orders and products is not an option. I could do it in the staging environment but not in production so I am looking for a solutions that helps me solve the problem without removing all data.Pleas let me know if you have any suggestions on a way forward.
Best regards,

Hi again,
I deleted all the WooCommerce data and re-installed the plugin but the issue persists. The setup wizard cant load any countries, can that be related to the problem?Cheers,
JonasHello jpsvensson,
Thank you for your reply.
To clarify, I suggest removing all data related to WooCommerce and reinstalling because I thought you were working on a new website. Normally, the setup wizard is triggered on the new sites.
Could you confirm, whether this is a new site or an existing site with customers and orders data?
The setup wizard cant load any countries, can that be related to the problem?
Is this a new problem that appeared after WooCommerce reset?
Are you still facing the original issue where Setup Wizard kept coming back?To help you further, please share your live site’s System Status Report with me.
You can paste it into https://pastebin.com and share the link here.Looking forward to your response. ??
This is a staging site that have been copied from the production site where the problem first occured. On the staging site all product and customer have been removed during unistallation of WooCommerce. Then WooCommerce have been reinstalled and the problem persists.
Here are the System Status Report:

JonasHello jpsvensson.
Thank you for your reply.
I understand that you copied the staging site from production, removed all products and customers during uninstallation, and reinstalled WooCommerce, but the issue persists.
Have you created or imported products after reinstalling?
I could not find any products when I visited the site.A video of the issue would help in understanding the problem better.
You can use Awesome Screenshot to record and share it.Best regards.
Hi,
No products have been created or imported to the site. So the site is as clean it can get. Here is a video of the problem:
https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/video/37244837?key=bcbab3f32f9a0cfdc6476e8ed41d7ae2As you can see the country drop down is empty. Sometimes it is full with countries but that does not change the behavior that the setup wizard keeps restarting. I have also completed all steps in the wizard but that does not solve the problem.
Let me know if you have any suggestions on way forward.
Thanks!
JonasHello jpsvensson,
Thank you for sharing a video.
Could you visit Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks and save your current settings without changing anything? This step will rebuild your .htaccess file, which might resolve the problem.
Additionally, it would be helpful if you activate your browser’s console tab while performing the onboarding process. This will help me see if there are any JS errors at the backend.
If you find anything, please share screenshots with me. You may use https://snipboard.io to upload images and share link here.Lastly, deactivate Stripe Tax and WooPayments plugins just to make sure this issue is not caused by one of these plugins.
Looking forward to your response. ??
Hi,
Thanks for helping!Rebuilding of .htaccess did not solve the problem.
Deactivating of Stripe Tax and WooPayments plugin did not solve the problem.
There are some JS Errors shown when browsing WooCommerce. Please see screenshots below:

JonasHi @jpsvensson,
Thank you for getting back and sharing the screenshots. The console error indicates that some images and URLs on your site are using HTTP instead of HTTPS.
To fix this, you can:
- Install the Better Search Replace plugin to search for
https://
and replace it withhttps://
. - Alternatively, use Really Simple SSL, which automatically detects and resolves mixed content issues.
Additionally, if possible, please check your site for any fatal error log notices. You can find these by navigating to WooCommerce > Status > Logs and sharing them via Pastebin.
Hi,
Thanks for the reply.I have fixed the https errors but the problem persists.
No fatal errors have been logged.
Do you have any more suggestions on how to locate the problem?
Regards,
JonasHello jpsvensson,
Thank you for your reply.
I appreciate you for trying all these troubleshooting steps and I understand the problem is still occurring.
In the screenshots, I noticed your browser has multiple extensions installed.
Sometimes, these extensions and other browser settings may interfere with JS and Ajax requests and cause this type of issue.Could you download another modern browser like Firefox and try completing the WooCommerce onboarding process there?
Please let me know how it goes.
Best regards.
Hi again,
Thanks for helping out!I disabled all Chrome plugins and restarted Chrome but that dit not help.
I then installed Firefox and everything works fine. So the problem seems to be related to Chrome.
I completed the set up wizard in Firefox but that did not solve the problem in Chrome. Even with a completed setup the wizard comes back when clicking on WooCommerce in the left side menu.
Regards,
JonasHello jpsvensson,
Thank you for your reply.
I understand that the WooCommerce setup wizard keeps appearing in Chrome, even after completing it in Firefox.
To confirm, it does not come back in Firefox and everything works fine. Am correct?
Since the issue is specific to Chrome, I recommend completely removing Chrome and checking again. If the problem persists, you may seek help from the Chrome support community at https://support.google.com/chrome/community.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Best regards.
Hi,
Everything works fine in Firefox. The problem exists only on Chrome. I have checked with other Chrome installations on other computers and they all show the same error.
Is there a way to work around problem? To somehow flag that the set up wizard is completed? Or to manually change so that the redirect goes to the correct page and not the set up wizard?
Thanks,
Jonas -
