I am configuring an ecommerce store using wordpress, WooCommerce and purchased theme called Metro.
I have changed themes to eliminate that as a cause.

    1. I added three shipping zones, the first being USA
    2. I added free shipping and flat rate to the other two successfully. later I returned and realised I had not added flat rate to US, so I tried. It refused to save. Just sat there spinnig.
    3. I uninstalled the plugin and tried to delete it but that failed also.
4 I went to the filesystem and manually deleted it.
    5. I downloaded a fresh version and uploaded it to install.
5Installed it successfully, it picked up the data in the db. Nothing had changed, Same problem.
    6. I went to WooCommerce->status to see if there was any clue. I got 404 for the status page.
    7. I switched themes and tried again, still 404, so not the theme.
8 Went to phpmyadmin and added some data to shipping just to make sure that was OK. No problem there. Other modules are accessing the database fine so its hardly connectivity

I am stuck now. Im not PHP, WordPress, or Woocommerce expert. I was a programmer but its not much help.
    Any suggestions.
If I found an alternative free shipping plugin and it worked i d run with that.
The plan is mostly free shipping, with the pricing already taking care of it apart from:
We want to show shipping and then give a coupon for free shipping on minimal value orders rather than just give it all away.

I’m worried that the cause of this may crop up again somewhere else. These things work like that. Id bet a few beers its in WooCommere, but you never can be sure.
    Any suggestions?

    Some aded information.
There’s been an error with the rt demo import plugin included in the theme.

    WordPress version 5.8.1
    Current theme: Metro (version 1.9.2)
Current plugin: RT Demo Importer (version 4.1.3) PHP version 8.0.8

    Error Details
    =============
An error of type E_COMPILE_ERROR was caused in line 192 of the file /home/theshoppinglist/public_html/wp-content/plugins/rt-demo-importer/unyson/framework/includes/option-types/wp-editor/includes/class-fw-wp-editor-settings.php. Error message: Array and string offset access syntax with curly braces is no longer supported

I suspect there may be a connection. Ill see what I can achieve, but not overly confidant.

    Hi @edtaaffe,

If I understand correctly you’re having an issue with your site that is not saving the settings and the preloader keeps spinning, right?

As a first step, you’d want to change the theme to Storefront and deactivate all other plugins except WooCommerce, and see if that helps.

If you’re not seeing the same behavior after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated.

Reactivate the theme first and check again. Then, go on and reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict.

You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here:

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/

    Thanks.
