• Hey Everyone!

Ive looked everywhere and cant seem to find the solution.

I want my Woocommmerce product categories to hide the parent category slug in the URL.

    For example instead of having:

    shop/custom-cakes-sydney/baby-shower-cakes-sydney/

I want to hide the parent category (custom-cakes-sydney) so it is like this:

    shop/baby-shower-cakes-sydney/

    Any help would be great.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi there!

Have you tried adjusting the permalink settings under **Settings > Permalinks**? Setting it to “Shop Base” sounds like the exact setting you’re looking for ??

    Hey Rk,

Thanks for taking the time to help me!

I went to product permalinks like you said and selected shop base, it did change my product base from ‘products’ to ‘shop’ but it seems to like selecting ‘custom base’ instead of saving on ‘shop base’, but im guessing that will work the same?

My links dont seem to have changed though, this link below is still showing /cakes/

    https://www.urbantreats.com.au/shop/cakes/birthday-cakes-sydney/

But I did notice that I can also visit the shortened link which is what im after, but wont this cause duplicate content issues?

    Thanks again

    I have the same question.
    Is there anyone to guide?

I also need help with this.
How do we stop parent slugs from showing in subcategory permalinks in WooCommerce?

You can put a period dot “.” in the categories base at permalink settings
