When someone visits my shop, they have to scroll through every page to find what they’re looking for. When someone clicks on the Category name, instead of opening the category, and showing the products available in that category, a “blog post” pops up, with a book cover image that I only have attached to one other place (the ACTUAL blog post) and if I click “read more,” thinking it might open the category, it just reloads that same page. I need my customers to be able to search by category, because I have several, and if they have to just scroll through all the time, no one is going to buy from me. I don’t want to miss sales because of this super frustrating issue. Thanks for your help!

Ii understand that the links to your category pages link instead to a blog post.
Would you please send us a link to an example page so we can investigate?
It would also be useful to see a screenshot of your permalink settings under Settings ? Permalinks.
We recommend https://snipboard.io for screenshots, but feel free to use whatever you’re comfortable with.
Simply paste the link to the screenshot in your reply.

it’s not that it links to a blog post. It links to something that LOOKS like a blog post.

The link in my original question is an example of the problem I’m having. If you go to the link, you’ll see that it looks like a blog post, with a “read more” tag, but the image is a book cover, and the “read more” doesn’t actually go anywhere.

I’m about to go to a “catalogue” type shop, because this is super frustrating. I hope you can fix it. I sell many different things, so without being able to sort by category, I’ll be losing customers. Or not even getting them to begin with. Thank you!

    Hi @pickybookworm

I was able to replicate the issue on your site. Here are the steps I did:

    – On your homepage, scroll down to the Select a category dropdown

    Image Link: https://snipboard.io/wDjrX0.jpg

    – Click AcornTops
    – I was redirected here: https://thepickybookworm.com/product-category/affiliate/acorntops/

I tried to replicate the issue on my test site, however, I was not able to reproduce it. I am currently using the default Storefront theme. I added the Product Categories List widget under WooCommerce > Appearance > Widgets:

    Image Link: https://snipboard.io/SOoPWp.jpg

And, here’s the output on my shop page:

This problem is maybe due to a conflicting theme or third-party plugin present on your site. Can you please try to perform a full conflict test and see if that works?

If this does not resolve the issue, please share your System Status Report, that will help us further troubleshoot.

You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it into your reply here.
