    Hello,

My client received an email from Paypal (or at least we think) with the following message (below). My client is not using any additional Paypal plugins. The payments are going through Woocommerce’s built-in payment gateway.

    [Email message]:
    “Hi XXXX,

I wanted to reach out to inform you of a new PayPal plugin that both us and WooCommerce are highly recommending. The new plugin will enhance your checkout process with PayPal and cut down on the time it takes customers to check out. It will also allow you to start accepting Venmo on your website as well. Your pricing will not change and this will be our fully-serviced model going forward with my technology team.

We recommend doing this as soon as possible and this is how it would look once you download and enable this plugin, and then disable your current PayPal plugin.

The “PayPal Checkout” plugin that you currently have enabled is actually being deprecated. If you go to the plugins section of WordPress, you will actually see an Action Required message recommending that you move over to the plugin that I’m referring to. The plugin you are currently using was officially retired on WooCommerce as of September 1st, and support for this plugin will end as of March 1st, 2022.”
    [end of email message]

Is this message legit? Are you aware of any depreciation Woocommerce Paypal plugins?
