The PayPal Sandbox looks and feels similar to the live environment. So the payment flow is essentially identical, and you only need sandbox-compatible cards or sandbox PayPal merchant/buyer accounts to test it. You can differentiate between sandbox and live mode by checking the URL in the PayPal popup: Sandbox payments are processed on https://www.sandbox.paypal.com/ while live payments use https://www.paypal.com/.

Thank you for your support. Indeed this is the issue. When I click on Paypal on the website as a way of payment it transfers me to https://www.paypal.com/. and not to https://www.sandbox.paypal.com/ while I have done everything and activated the API on the website paypal sandbox. Do you think I missed anything or if there is a detailed video I can follow ?

Connecting a PayPal sandbox account to the live system shouldn’t be possible as this is separate from the sandbox. Can you confirm the Sandbox checkbox is selected?:

Sandbox accounts normally have an email address like this: [email protected]

To connect your PayPal sanbox account, you need the login credentials to the account, which you can get from the PayPal developer dashboard.

Thank you for the effort of trying to show me how things should go. Indeed I have followed the same steps and I am putting here a copy of the screenshot. The issue is that when I click on “Buy Now” then I click on “Place Order” it says processing then it directs me to the Live Paypal and not the sandbox one. I really do not know while I have done all the proper setup. Hoping further support can be provided.
