Woocommerce paypal not working

I am using the paypal option for checkouts on my site, (not the “paypal checkout” option – the “paypal” option.) and have entered the paypal email in the settings then when going to test a check out, after clicking “proceed with paypal” in the cart, I get redirected to paypal and an error saying “Things don’t appear to be working at the moment. Please try again later.”

Any ideas on how to fix this? Am I missing a step in the setup? all I did under the settings for the “paypal” option was insert the email address… it didn’t seem like there was anything else it needed – but maybe someone could help me out if I am missing something.
