    Hi,

When someone purchases a product my website using the built in paypal in woocommerce it doesn’t turn the payment to processing even though they paid. It still sticks on pending payment.

If I use another plugin for paypal it does the opposite. When someone hasn’t paid, there is an invoice sent to them when it should be pending payment.

Any ideas why this is and how I can fix it. Everything is up to date.

If you are using the PayPal standard option that comes with WooCommerce and the money is in your PayPal account, it means your site is not receiving an IPN response from PayPal.

Since the payment takes place on PayPal and not your website, your website relies on PayPal sending back a message to know if the payment went through. This is called an IPN.

We have a guide on how to troubleshoot IPN issues here:
    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/paypal-standard/#section-22

You can avoid relying on IPN responses by switching to an Identify token. An explanation of that feature is also included on the page I linked above.

    Hi there,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

    Kind regards,
