WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Sandbox
-
So I’ve used this plugin for PayPay Checkout (the new PayPal buttons that actually keep you on your website instead of going to PayPal) in the past: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/paypal-express-checkout/. Now when you click on the download link on that page it takes you here: https://woocommerce.com/products/woocommerce-paypal-payments/. So WooCommerce must have an updated plugin for PayPal Checkout now, which is confusing enough. I downloaded and installed the plugin and the settings are mostly the same as before but with a couple more options. What was changed the most is how you connect to PayPal. I’m trying to connect my PayPal Developer account that has two Sandbox accounts assigned in it (one business sandbox account and one personal sandbox account). With the first plugin, I just had to go to the business sandbox account and copy out the API credentials it gives right there in PayPal. Now with this updated plugin, it asks for different information to make a connection. I think I’ve found the correct info to use but none of the payment methods actually work when I try to test in the same way I’ve successfully tested other sites using the original plugin I mentioned.
I know there is a button to automatically connect to PayPal but it seems like I can’t use that since my PayPal account is just a Developer account (it has no live business account associated with it). Whenever I try to use the button it tries to make me set up a real business account and I don’t want to do that. I’m a developer working for an agency and we work on our clients’ websites, so I don’t have a full PayPal business account just a developer account that has always done what I needed to do in the past.
How can I get the sandbox testing working with this new version of the plugin?
