I may have fixed this by turning off javascript minification, would be great if I could turn this cak on wth an exclusion of a specific file

    Hi @gazrobbo

    Thanks for updating us!

If turning off minification entirely help then there’s a good chance that it would suffice to exclude some assets (most likely a single or just a few JS files) from it instead of disabling it entirely.

If you are using Automatic mode of Asset Optimization, there is an option at the bottom of optimization settings page to define exclusions. In Manual mode, it’s a matter of disabling specific optimization options (like e.g. compress or combine) for selected files directly.

The question is, however, for which file(s) and I’m afraid I don’t have a universal answer here. Because of how optimization works, this may be different on different sites.

A simple way to find out the best combination of asset optimization settings is to use a “Safe mode” that’s available in plugin if you switch Asset Optimization to “Manual” mode:

    – go to “Hummingbird -> Asset Optimization -> Assets” page
    – switch to “manual”
    – you’ll see the “Safe mode” switch so turn it on
    – and at this point you’ll be able to “play around” with optimization settings for all the files (being able to fine tune that on for each single file) without actually affecting the site.

This way you should be able to eventually find a nice balance between optimization settings and keeping the site fully functional and once you’re done, you can apply the changes live.

    Best regards,
    Adam
