Woocommerce orders are not syncing with Square

All orders made on your WooCommerce store should reduce the stock count in Square.

Can you please check if the inventory sync is enabled from WooCommerce > Settings > Square?

What about individual products? Is the product you’re test-ordering properly synced with Square? Also, what payment method are you using when testing?

Could you also share a copy of your site’s System Status and the Square logs? You can find find the system status report via WooCommerce > Status.

As for the Squrae logs, they should be in WooCommerce > Status > Logs (Search for Square from the drop-down menu).

Yes, Square is set to sync with the product inventory and can be purchased with PayPal, Amazon Pay, and Credit Card Payment. When a customer purchased the product below, the inventory did not change in square. This is a recent problem as the syncing had been working before.

If you change the sync interval to every 15 minutes into the settings, does that make a difference? Or is the issue still present?

In order to find the cause of the issue, you can switch the site theme to Storefront temporarily, and then disable all plugins except WooCommerce, and Square. Check again to see if the issue persists, if not, it means there was a conflict, and you can then switch back your theme to the original one, and reactivate gradually the rest of the plugins (checking again after each plugin reactivation), until you find the culprit. If that does not help, can you share a copy of any fatal error log found under WooCommerce > System Status > Logs (if available)?

Not sure if you’d prefer for me to start a new thread but we are experiencing something very similar to above. Integrated and all seemed to be syncing ok. But have realised if a person orders from our website and uses a different payment provider than square then stock isn’t reducing in Square and when the next sync happens the website syncs with square and so the item is available to purchase again.

What bluecubes described above appears to be the same situation we’re having. The stock quantity changed when someone checked out with a credit card using square. Someone else purchased something through paypal and the stock did not update. Would this be an issue with all other payment providers other than square? What would be the best way to test purchasing products using different payment methods?

Thank you for providing further information about your issue here.

I understand that when an order is placed using Square as the payment gateway, the stock is reduced, otherwise, it is not.

I replicated the scenario on my personal site running on the default Storefront theme, however, I am unable to reproduce the issue on my end.

In my first test, I used Square as the payment method and the stock was reduced as you can see in the first pic. Then, I tried again using Stripe Test Mode and the stock is reduced again based on the second pic.

You can also try to use Stripe Test Mode to test and verify this on your end.

Checking your site’s SSR, I can see that you have a lot of pending tasks. Can you please check if the Square’s product sync is being held here? I would also suggest to run the pending tasks manually under WooCommerce > Status > Scheduled Actions > Pending.

Meanwhile, please enable logging under WooCommerce > Settings > Square. Then, try to repeat the steps again in purchasing an order in which the stock quantity is not being reduced. Then, please copy and paste the error logs under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

I just setup stripe and enabled test mode and purchased a product synced with Square and everything worked perfect. Stock was updated in both woocommerce and square. From what I understand, it sounds like they were having issues with the other payment methods (amazon pay and paypal). Is this anything you’ve experienced before and is there a setting with those payment providers that would need to be adjusted?

I manually ran the square pending task.

I tried test ordering a product using the PayPal Payments extension and the inventory was deducted from Square.

May I ask whether you’re marking the order as complete after making a purchase? From my testing, I found that the stock only changed when the order was marked as complete. If the orders are paid for and complete, kindly open a ticket from WooCommerce.com > MY profile > Support so we can look further into this.

It looks like there was another order that went through and the stock did not update. The purchase was made with paypal. I’ll open a ticket on the provided link.
