Woocommerce order status set from pending to complete multiple times

  • I have a problem with the order status of Woocommerce. I sell downloadable products (eBooks).

    When someone orders an eBook the order status is changed from pending to completed about three to four times. This means that I (as admin) and my customer get three or four the same emails with the order details and the download link.

    A bit much i think ??
    Does someone know what might cause the order to change from pending to complete three or four times every order?
