• My book is linked from woocommerce to bookvault, but when I placed a test order with my credit card, the order did not automatically go to Bookvault website. I had to click on “Send order to Bookvault”. When it goes to Bookvault, it was listed as Draft order when I had enough funds to cover the printing and shipping costs. Please help!

  • I am having a similar issue, adding my name to this thread in the hope we can both get it resolved.

Bookvault told me as far as the payment “You can either pay for each order, or you can add a payment card to the account on the ‘Payments’ tab in which would be charged automatically for the order.” Do not add funds to your account as it is in pounds and not dollars, therefore, orders will not get paid if the book price is in US dollar.

As far as the order not automatically going to Bookvault, they said, “It should go straight into Bookvault, if there is any issues with the Webhook and not going into Bookvault, you can use the ‘Send order to Bookvault’ in WooCommerce that will send it through an API feed instead that should then go onto our system. If you do have issues with the orders automatically coming across to Bookvault, let us know and that is something we can have our IT team look into – this is usually related to conflicting plugins or site settings.”

I had to add Bookvault as an admin to my WordPress for them to look into it.

Thank you, that’s very helpful! I’d be happy to give Bookvault access if they need it. I’ll read up what the Webhook is and see if I can do more troubleshooting.

Suong, how is your situation going? I have given Bookvault admin access to my shop, waiting to hear back from them.

They haven’t done anything yet. However, I received one book that I ordered as a proof for myself, but somehow the font inside the book is different from the font I used on the pdf I uploaded. Did you experience that?

I haven’t even seen a proof yet, unfortunately.

What program did you use to generate your PDF? If the letterspacing of the font in the book is the same, but it’s a different font, then that points to an font-embedding issue.

I wish I could show you an example of what the substitute font looks like, but it seems no one has posted one online in the last 30 years … or the search engines with image searches are all terrible.

One test you can try is to print a page of your PDF from another computer and printer, and see what comes out.

I hired a typesetter so I’m not sure what program she used. I will try to print a page to test. Thanks for the insights.

You’re welcome, happy to at least advance something while we await our respective shops’ repairs!

It has been three days since I heard from them—when was your last contact with them? I don’t want to push them too much if they are busy but at the same time I don’t want my support ticket vanishing down their inbox.

last email was 12/04. They are very slow.

Yep, one week for me now …

Suong, are you on the latest WordPress? I am, and I wonder if that might be an issue since they have only tested to v. 6.3.2.

I also spotted this in the Woocommerce advanced settings: ‘1 incompatible plugin detected (Bookvault)’.

I manually created a ReST API, a sample webhook, and a legacy API inside the advanced settings’ menus but to no avail.

I have talked to one friend of mine who is knowledgeable about software and had tried this plug-in, and he suspects the bug is on Bookvault’s end.

Apologies for all the messages, not sure what to do while we wait for an answer.

    Hi Jack,

Yes, I have the latest WordPress. I saw the message regarding the “incompatible plugin (Bookvault)” as well.

Hopefully Bookvault is looking into it, and that’s why there is a holdup.

I don’t mind the messages. It helps me to know what’s going on as I am not fluent with API and webhook. Thanks!

I have finally heard back from someone at Bookvault. Apparently, there should be a webhook and an API (mine has neither). My fake ones probably didn’t work because they aren’t what their system expects. Hopefully they can advise me what should be in there.

Yes, hopefully they can help us quickly. Thanks for the updates, Jack!

Hi Suong, their IT head accessed our site and linked the title, so that part is now fixed. He also added the ReST API and webhook. Good news at last! However, now I have exactly the bug that you do. I have my first order and the customer has been charged, but it doesn’t show up at Bookvault. But at least that’s still progress!
