• Hello! I just recently set up a E commerce store through Woocommerce. The only pay option I activated on the site is through Paypal.

I had a friend try out a test product (I made it a penny so it wouldn’t break the bank). He said everything worked fine. Well when I went on the site to try and purchase something, all his buyer/shipping info was listed on the site.

That’s not good! Is there some kind of script I need to add, or am I just missing a step for it to remove this information? I certainly don’t want buyer’s information staying up for other people to see when they give it a go.

    Please help!

  • Where exactly have you seen that?
Have you used the same login/password than your friend?

Maybe if you could share a screenshot that you be handy to help you

Are you saying that when you went to checkout, all the fields were already filled in with your friend’s information? If so, were you using the same computer as your friend?

    Hey David,

I’m at work right now, but when I get home I’ll provide screen shots.

    Eric,

Yes, that is correct. And no, they are different computers in different states! lol That is what’s so disconcerting about this. Keep in mind guest login is enabled. So I’m almost wondering if it is saving/storing the saved guest info when they are on that checkout screen?

Do I have to add some PHP script on the checkout page to make sure it wipes info anytime someone leaves that page?

    Thanks!

It is normal for WooCommerce to save guest checkout data. It should be viewable from Admin Panel > WooCommerce > Orders
What’s not normal is that another user is seeing it in another checkout session. If you click on one of the fields (First Name, for example), and start to type something else, does your friend’s info disappear, or do you have to manually delete it?

Could be a caching issue. The information is remaining in memory and isn’t being cleared properly.

You know what. I think eric was right! I think I was simply logged in as the admin and didn’t realize that it saved information. Thanks guys!

Was your friend using the same admin account when he purchased the test product?
