• In the real world goods are purchased at variable rates ie the purchase cost is different by item and so profit is variable on an item by item basis) and at the end of the year for taxing purposes they are considered expended in a first in first out fashion.

The plugins I have found all treat the cost of goods as static custom field associated with the product (at least with regards to the moment they are sold) and are simply not accurate at all.

Has anyone seen a solution to this?

Does it seem like a worthwhile plugin?
