This seems to have started yesterday, but for some reason when I have the Woocommerce plugin activated it causes the layout of my homepage to go out of whack. I’ve even just now updated to Version 7.8.2, but it hasn’t helped. Also, I can’t edit the page except in Safe Mode, if at all. The background color is gone, the alignment of everything is just scattered down the page, as if all the tables and columns had been removed.
It’s crazy, because all other pages showing my products don’t seem to be affected, the alignment of tables and columns works fine and I can edit them just fine. Even the ‘About’ page, which is nothing fancy, looks as it should. So why it’s only the home page, which is a basic header, content, footer, welcome page scenario, that is being messed up by Woocommerce, is beyond me at the moment.

Oddly, if I deactivate the plugin then the homepage is back to normal, everything looks fine, and there’s no need to edit it. But if I reactivate Woocommerce plugin, the page is messed up again. (Fwiw, I did test deactivating/reactivating every plugin, and it’s definitely and only the Woocommerce plugin causing the problem.

Has anyone seen this and perhaps knows what happened to the Woocommerce plugin to start this? Thx.

  • Hey, cplambright, I’m another WooCommerce user.

I’d recommend making a staging version of your site and changing the default theme and have WooCommerce still enabled to see if the front page is fine.

Your current theme may have styles that are being influenced by the WooCommerce styles that the plugin generates.

    Hey @cplambright,

Based on your description of Safe Mode and things changing after enabling WooCommerce, it sounds like your homepage is created with Elementor. The design of your site is not changed by WooCommerce usually, but other plugins that interact with WooCommerce might be affected by updates, changes, or when WooCommerce is active. I would recommend Elementor support for this based on what I know so far.

If you’ve updated Elementor and reached their support and have not found a solution, then it would be great to know more about your site. Could you please send me a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support” (after you scroll down a bit)”. Once done, please paste it to this topic in code tags.

    Thanks!

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.

Thanks for all the suggestions… at the time I finally rebuilt the home page and it seemed to be fine again, until now. In the last couple of days, the same thing has started again, so I’ve posted a new topic explaining the issue again, and if anyone sees this older one then please look for my new topic as of 7/22/23.
