I’ve configured Post SMTP to send through Google Workspace, so my outgoing emails are DKIM-signed by Google. This works.

However, emails that WooCommerce sends through Post SMTP have multiple issues:

    – I can see that they get sent (I have Sent Items), but notifications to me as shop owner/admin don’t get delivered.

    – When I set WooCommerce to send multipart emails (text/html), Post SMTP reports empty emails, and nothing gets sent. (When I deactiveate Post SMTP, I can see that the messages do have content, and are text/html multipart.)

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

The issue with not getting delivered has been resolved: the alias I was using wasn’t marked “Treat as alias” in Gmail. That was the cause, switching it on was the solution.

Which leaves open the question of WooCommerce multipart emails not being accepted by Post SMTP.

    Hi @florismk,

Do you still require support with this issue? My apologies we have been unavailable for a short while.

    Kind Regards,

Hi @tneville, thanks for responding. Yes, the issue still persists. When I switch on Multipart email in Woocommerce, Post SMTP reports it cannot send because the email is empty. This is inconvenient, since including both text and html is a measure against being treated as spam (spamcop scores messages with only html higher).

    Hi @florismk,

If you turn off the multipart, are emails sent (albeit they would be caught by spamcop)? Which setting are you changing?

    Kind Regards,

    That was fast ??

Yes, without multipart, emails get delivered, and that’s in fact how I currently have it configured. It hurts the spam score, but not quite badly enough to threaten delivery. Hoewver, I would prefer it to work with multipart.

    The setting I’m changing is:

    WooCommerce - Settings - Emails - <any of the email types> - Content Type

Which can be set to Text, HTML, or Multipart. The HTML setting, which I’m using now, gets the emails delivered. The Multipart setting triggers the empty email error from Post SMTP.

    Hi @florismk,

Got you, sorry I think I had confused your thread with another! Are you using the Gmail API to send via your Google Workspace account? If not, are you using SMTP?

    Kind Regards,
    Tim

Yes, the GMail API through Google Workspace.

    Hi @florismk,

Thanks for confirming. Are you able to send a screenshot of the error Post SMTP gives?

    Kind Regards,
    Tim

Hi @tneville, I have screenshots for you, but I don’t see a way to provide them here. Am I missing something obvious on this forum?

    Hi @florismk,

I’m afraid the WP.org forums don’t allow file uploads directly. You would need to share them via a public service like Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, etc.

    Thanks.

Sorry, it is still playing up.

If this doesn’t work, I’ll put them on USB and carry it to you ??
