WooCommerce – Menu order in advanced field no longer allows custom menu ordering

Hello.
I updated to the latest version of WooCommerce a couple of months ago and it has created a problem with the sorting order of my products.
I want my products to appear in a particular order on the shop page so I have used the Advanced field and given each a numerical order in the ‘Menu Order’ field.
This was working fine until the update.
Now the products appear in the order that they were created and published with the most recent product being the first in the list and the oldest product at the bottom.
I have reviewed the forums and tried the fix suggested for this problem but to no avail.
Do you have any ideas?
