Woocommerce MAX_INPUT_VARS not recognised

  • Hi – my hosting provider has kindly increased the MAX_INPUT_VARS to 3000.
    Viewing the phpinfo() data it correctly shows the value 3000, however when running running Get System Status in Woocommerce it still shows 1000 and the problem (saving products with large variants) still persists.

    PHP version = 5.3.27
    Woocommerce version 2.1.6

    Can anyone suggest why this might be happening?
