I need help with the woocommerce plugin. The whole shop is 1 large 503 error.

I cannot deactivate the plugin; ‘deactivate’ is greyed out. Even a bulk deactivation leaves W alone. I did find a thread of someone with the same problem, but it was marked ‘resolved’ without offering a helpful solution.

  • You can also deactivate a plugin by changing the plugin directory name. That helped me once. After that, you can change the name back and you can activate it again.

@gerske thanks for your reply! I tried that, changed the name to woocommerce2 and that messed everything up. No problem of course because I could change it back. But it doesn’t help unfortunately; the plugin still has a greyed out ‘deactivate’.

UPDATE: I can now turn the Woocommerce plugin on and off, but the shop is still one big 503…. ??

Does anyone know how I can fix this? Deactivating all other plugins did not help.

Not an expert here, but was it after an upgrade? Then maybe use your backup.

Always check the logs on the server. Very often it says what is the problem. https://www.vimexx.nl/help/wat-is-een-503-error-en-hoe-los-ik-dit-op

@ckadenge Thanks for your reply. I have just found out that updating my php version did the trick. However… class-wp-shipping-zones.php has caused created problems. Can you tell me how I can prevent that in the future, or may I expect it won’t happen again now that my php is updated? The image shows peaks caused by class-wp-shipping-zones.php. Thanks!
