• I’m in need of some help in regards to getting my WooCommerce multivendor site to communicate with the likes of Magento, eBay, other eCommerce stores, but in the first instance Magento.

Will this only work via way of API? If so, how difficult would it be to set up? I’m short on funds at the moment, so hiring a developer is a little way off.

I am running a multivendor eCommerce marketplace and have a few clients invested in the idea, but not in the time it takes to upload each product manually as they have hundreds on their site.
Do people have any suggestions/solutions as to how a newbie could develop something? I’ve recently come across Zapier, but there isn’t a hell of a lot of information about how they integrate, and my guess is, it’s for one user’s sites to communicate as opposed to offering a log in for an external user.
WooCommerce (what I’m running) basically needs to communicate with their store, so each time a product is uploaded, edited or deleted their end needs to feed in to my store.

I’m running WordPress 4.4.2 with Dokan Multivendor and WooCommerce.

    Thanks.

  • Hi Michael,

There are few options for multi-channel distribution such as Channel Advisors (https://www.channeladvisor.com) that helps you connect to stores like ebay, amazon and several other. I am not sure if they integrate with storefronts (Magento/Shopify etc). They are few other alternatives that you can look into. Here’s a Quora post that discusses few other alternatives to Channeladvisor.

Don’t mean to be salesy but I am part of an e-com workflow automation platform – Core (www.corehq.io). Our platform has a pre-built Magento integration and we are in the process of adding ebay. If this is of interest, please feel free to drop us a note at [email protected]

Thanks so much, I shall take a look at these shortly.

I do have a developer who is able to get my clients’ stores to communicate with mine, but as you can imagine, it’s very pricey. It’s a bit of a catch 22 at the moment as this ability would grow the site quite quickly in a short space of time, but I was hoping to scale it a bit further before I shell out for it.

One other question, that you may be able to help with.

Setting up the WooCommerce API, I’m at their github with the .php files, do I need to add these to the theme? I understand everything bar the implementation of this code. Ironically, probably the most vital part. This would probably reduce the future cost of the developer.

There is no need to change any .php files. You can simply follow this link – https://docs.woothemes.com/document/woocommerce-rest-api/

to enable the API. Just use a UI based configuration.

btw, I have sent you a pm as well. Let’s connect at [email protected]
