Hi I am having a couple of issues at the moment with one website.

We host this site but unfortunately we dint build it and it came to us with “issues” and I am looking for inspiration here is solving 2 problems

1 – there is an error on some page with woo products listed – it appears to be an error in a prdctfltr – looking in this directory there is a link to https://mihajlovicnenad.com and this domain has no info – so is this an old plug in that has gone? and if so is there an alternative I can install to use to rectify that issue?

    2) the site has wpbakery and massive add on – this edits all pages except the product pages such as:

    https://postboxesukltd.co.uk/product/h260-1-horizontal-post-box-letter-box-mailbox/

even removing wp bakery and going to woo products and trying to find the text – its not there – so any changes are direct database entries – anyone come across this before and how do you fix it – or am I looking in completely the wrong place for the text to edit?

    Many thanks in anticipation

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    1. Definitely looks like a plugin issue – what ‘product filter’ plugins have you got installed?
    2. What are you trying to edit on that product page – it all looks like standard WooCommerce elements

Hi Sean thank you for the reply

There isnt showing in the plugins a filter installed – yet page code points to the directory where I found the link out to https://mihajlovicnenad.com/

As you say it looks like a standard product entry. – yet when I go to products, edit products he product description panel shows up blank?

That’s odd. Where is the directory? In wp-content/plugins?

When in the edit product page, click on the ‘Screen Options’ button – top right. Is it listed in there? Unticked?

    Hi there @webspaceunlimited,

    Thanks for reaching out.

The error you’re experiencing might indeed be related to an outdated or non-functional plugin. The link you provided points to a website, which currently seems to be down or non-existent.

It’s possible that the plugin in question is either outdated or is no longer maintained. Searching for ‘prdctfltr‘ through the internet, seems to lead to a product filer plugin.

You may want to consider replacing it with a similar product filter plugin. There are several alternative plugins available in the WooCommerce marketplace that might serve your needs, such as ‘Product Filters for WooCommerce’. You can check it out here.

For the issue with WPBakery and Massive Addons not being able to edit product pages, this could be due to the fact that some themes or plugins may restrict the use of page builders on certain types of pages, such as product pages.

You can try to check if your theme or any other plugin is causing this issue. If you can’t find the text you’re trying to edit in the usual places, it might indeed be stored directly in the database.

However, editing the database directly can be risky if you’re not comfortable with it. If this is the case, you may want to consider hiring a developer or reaching out to the theme/plugin authors for further assistance.

    I hope this helps.

Thank you both for your kind replies and thoughts. I am unfortunately a web developer and programmer of some 30 years now. I do try to avoid wordpress where I can as I fully realise how it has become a “niche” product with people specialising in it as much as I go out of my way to avoid it ?? BUT I have had a bit more opportunities its to look at the site in depth now (over a quiet weekend without the usual daily distractions)

With the first issue I do agree the product filtering plugin seems to have gone and I was hoping someone might recognise the link and have had some positive experience with finding a simple replacements.

The second issue with the wp bakery / editing issue of the product description – I did try swopping the theme to storefront to check if it was theme7 causing the issue and .. made no difference the product description wasn’t visible in product editor, similarly turning off wp bakery and the other associated plugins means that the content doesn’t magically reappear

I am going to look more in depth at the database.

sorry Sean I missed your reply above.

the product secription panel is displaying – its just blank thats the strange thing

    ok I have found answers

    1. product descriptions

there was a plugin called custom page templates – the product details were entered on the site using this plugin and as the plugin causes issues with the sites running it was in the past removed and so hides the product description details as its location in the database is different to where the product description content was held

So there is a work around – enable and use the plug in and edit the products – and then deactivate it for the site to work

not an elegant solution but a workable one

    2. product filtering

    Hello @webspaceunlimited,

Glad to hear you were able to figure out the issues affecting your site.

It doesn’t seem to be supported any longer

You might want to consider using alternative plugins. There are numerous product filtering plugins available that are compatible with WooCommerce and are regularly updated.

Some of these include ‘Product Filters for WooCommerce‘, which is actually maintained by WooCommerce, therefore getting constant updates and personalized support by the Woo Team.

I’ll now go ahead and mark this thread as solved, should you have any further questions, please feel free to ask.

    All the best!
