I have been using Woocommerce on my website www,bspaac.net for 3 years with no problems. I have not received orders recently and today I checked my site to find that all orders were in “Processing” mode. I made an order (Free) which was accepted in “Checkout”. I did not receive an e-mail for downloading the order or an e-mail confirming the order. Checking the dashboard I found the order was in “Processing” mode. I have checked with Bluehost and it appears the problem is in a Woocommerce Plugin. I have de-activated all plugins except Woocommerce and tried an updated WordPress Theme. But the problem remains. Has anyone had this problem. I have searched the forum but couldn’t find it. Has anyone any ideas please.

  • Hey @roythompsett,

Sorry for the trouble there. When an order is placed and paid for, it is set to “processing.” The idea is now that order has been paid for, the store owner will need to ship it, or do something else with it and then change the status to completed.

For digital products, you can set them to be both downloadable and virtual. When they are both set, paid order will automatically be marked completed.

    virtual and downloadable

For the emails, if you’re using WooCommerce 3.7 you may need to edit the New Order email to fix that. Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Email and click on the New Order email. In the additional content field, remove the emoji and save your changes.

See if that fixes the new order emails for you. If it doesn’t, then we have a guide to emails in WooCommerce that can help you find out what the problem is.

If you have any questions, let me know.

    Take care,

I have free downloadable items in my shop. I am able to put these in the basket, go to check out and order them. The order is shown as completed but they do not arrive in my mail box. I go to my website https://www.bspaac.net and access admin and find that the order is shown as “processing”. I have over 300 orders dating back over 3 years which have been OK. No problems but they ALL are now showing as being “processed

    Hello @roythompsett,

Can you confirm that the product in the latest order that is “processing” and not completed is both virtual and downloadable?

Could you please send me a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it here.

    Thanks

The last order was completed because I added “virtual”. However it still did not sen an e-mail for me to download or an e-mail to confirm order.

Thanks for sending that over. I see you’re running WooCommerce 3.7. Did you check to see if the emoji is still in the New Order email? Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Emails and click on New Order. Look in the Additional Content field and see if you see an emoji like this:

    emoji

Remove that from that box and save your changes. Try sending the email again and see if it sends.

If that still doesn’t work, then install the WP Mail Logging plugin. It keeps a log of all emails sent. Next, try to send the email again. It should show up in the mail log this time. See if there are any error messages.

Let me how that goes and we’ll take it from there.

    Cheers

This is interesting. First I had already deleted the mojo but checked to see that it was deleted. It was. I downloaded wp mail logging and made an order. it is showing as “completed”. Again I did not receive an e-mail to download the order or an e-mail informing me of the order. I checked WP Mail Logging and guess what. Both these e-mails are being shown as being sent and exactly as I have been receiving them prior to this fault.

I’ve now found that these e-mails are turning up in my SPAM folder.

I don’t know if these problems are connected but all of my previous orders over the past 3 years are showing as processing. I can change them to completed

    Hello

I have cured the problem thanks to you. All of my mails from woocommerce to my e-mail address were in my SPAM folder. By opening them it showed that because previous messages were scammed then these were to. I was given the option of treating them as not scam which did the trick. These mails are now sent to my e-mail address. I have bulk actioned all of my orders to completed and all seems well now,

Thank you so much for your help in finding the solution

    Regards

    Roy

    Hey Roy,

Glad to hear all is well now. Let us know if you run into any other trouble.

    Cheers

Interestingly I had the issue with sending new order emails starting from the last WooCommerce update in August 2019. Deleting that emoji from the Additional Content text mentioned above solved the issue for me.
