I’ve recently enabled Square but found that my inventory was wrong for an item.
I have WooCommerce chosen as the inventory source, not Square as I have something else that syncs inventory between other venues

However, if I go into the product variations, I note that the ability to add inventory from within WooCommerce is now greyed out and it has a link to “fetch inventory from Square.”

If Woo is the inventory source shouldn’t I be able to adjust inventory there and not in Square???
    Thanks
    Cheryl

I finally found a solution to this in part.

Which is to fetch the inventory from Square– then it can be edited on the WooCommerce side.

However, this doesn’t fix my other issue. I am using QuickBooks Commerce as my main inventory source currently because it syncs with Woo and other channels.

If I have zero inventory in Woo and add inventory in QuickBooks Commerce it doesn’t seem to update like it should in WooCommerce if I have the Square sync enabled. I’ll keep an eye on it — so far it seems to be adding inventory appropriately unless something gets to 0.

    Hey @tricheryltops,

Sorry for the confusion there. When Square is used with WooCommerce, Square is always the “source of truth” about inventory. The only way to update inventory on the WooCommerce side is to first “fetch” the inventory from Square and then update it as you mentioned.

That might not be possible since QuickBooks is updating WooCommerce’s inventory information. You might need to see if QuickBooks can update Square directly which would then update WooCommerce too.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks!
