• I found that the website cannot be opened, so I disabled the plug-in and found that the website cannot be opened due to the activation of WooCommerce. After disabling it, the website can be opened normally. I would like to ask what the reason is.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • @stevehale – I have deleted nothing and it seems counter productive that anyone would delete support requests – as you mention – the volume indicates the severity – couldn’t agree more!

@rjadev Did you receive an email from your site regarding a technical error? In there should be a link to access the site in Safe Mode. You should then be able to get in and deactivate/update the plugin.

You can also see a solution from @stevehale here (thanks Steve!)

I rolled back to 8.9.3 using the RollBack plugin, and had to temporarily deactivate a bunch of woocommerce add-ons to do so. I reactivated them all, turned off auto-updates, and all was fine. And then 10 hours later, my site is down again, and woocommerce has somehow re-updated itself to version 9.0.0. Simply History log doesn’t show any updates to it. WTF? Could the WC-related plugins have forced it to update? And now Rollback won’t load for Woocommerce, so I can’t get my site up at all! Any ideas?!!

UPDATE: I was able to use Rollback by deactivating WooCommerce first.

I have found on several of the sites I manage that deleteing V9.0.0 and then re-installing it seems to work OK.

If you are using FTP then go to the plugins folder and rename the Woocommerce folder to something like Woocommerce_dont_use then refresh your site. If you are using Cpanel you can rename the folder in the File Manager.

The plugin probably will still show but the DELETE option will be available – NOTE: make sure all dependable plugins are deactivated – then delete it, then re-install it direct.

As I say this has worked for me…..

Did I say that support requests had been deleted?

    If so I apologise.

I DID say I was concerned about response times, due to past experiences, though your speed in responding, Nigel, has somewhat negated this “jaundice” too.

Maybe because of the volume of complaints?

Anyway it is good that, even though root cause is not known, a re-install seems to have solved the issue.

I have several sites on auto updates and I do wonder if the auto update install got broken somewhere?

It would be good to know if the cause can be published?

Just seen the post re 9.0.1…..

What I will say about this:

“How Can I Tell If This Affects Me?

If you have upgraded to WooCommerce 9.0, and you encountered an error similar to the following: Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Class ‘WC_Legacy_API’ not found…, you are affected.”

Is that IN FACT in ALL my cases all we got was a “Critical Error” on the site, leading to have to login using the error option to be able to try to isloate the issue.

Simply put the site(s) would not work at all!

Like a string of complaints from customers, basically blaming us!

I think that your post needs updating to include this….

    Helo SteveHale,

    Thank you for your reply.

The WooCommerce 9.0.1 is released now and it has fixed the issue related to Legacy REST API.

Please go ahead and update the WooCommerce to the latest version and let us know how it goes.
We are here for your assistance. ??

    Have a great day!
