Thanks for sending over the system status report. I noticed that WooCommerce is quite a bit out of date. Let’s start by updating it. It’s possible this issue has been resolved in one of the updates that’s been released.

Thanks for trying that. Have you used the “X-Accel-Redirect/X-Sendfile” option to see if it works on your server?

If that doesn’t work either, please take a screenshot of your download settings (WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Downloadable Products) and include it in your reply.

I just tried that setting. No success yet. I confess, I can’t figure out how to attach a screen shot here but my download settings are exactly as shown in your photo.

Thanks for trying that. There’s not a built-in way to share screenshots in the forum but what you can do is upload one to the media library on your WordPress site. Then copy the URL to it and paste it here in your reply. That should work too.

What happens if you upload a fresh copy of the files? Are those accessible?

I have tried deleting the files and reloading. That hasn’t been successful for me either. “Redirect” has been the only setting that has worked for me, but I’d rather have more security as I’m selling the pdfs. I had it set up as forced downloads previously. I just can’t figure out what’s changed that the download links don’t seem to work anymore.

Apologies it seems that we missed your response.

Could you please try uploading a file directly into the Media library and then paste the file path into the downloadable product instead of uploading it from the product page to see if that works?

Thank you for getting back to me. That does seem to work. Since that gives a link without security string I tried uploading it from the product page with my Filename settings turned off, just to see. That didn’t work either, if that helps at all. I took a screen shot of how the same file uploaded into my media library: the one on the right I uploaded directly to the library(this is the one that works) and the one on the left was uploaded through the product page(doesn’t work). So I’ll go through my products and reload and update the links directly from the media library and hope I’m good to go.
