I installed the EWWW Image Optimizer plugin, all parts of the images in webp format are loaded correctly, But the WooCommerce image gallery still loads in jpg format.

    <a class="e-gallery-item elementor-gallery-item elementor-animated-content" data-elementor-open-lightbox="yes" data-elementor-lightbox-slideshow="all-934b96d" data-elementor-lightbox-title="gallery-shop-4" e-action-hash="#elementor-action%3Aaction%3Dlightbox%26settings%3DeyJpZCI6NjA0NCwidXJsIjoiaHR0cHM6XC9cL2RhdGFpcy5pclwvaXRhZ2VudC5pclwvd3AtY29udGVudFwvdXBsb2Fkc1wvMjAyMVwvMTBcL2dhbGxlcnktc2hvcC00LmpwZyIsInNsaWRlc2hvdyI6ImFsbC05MzRiOTZkIn0%3D" style="--column:3; --row:0;"> <div class="e-gallery-image elementor-gallery-item__image" data-thumbnail="https://website.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/gallery-shop-4-180x180.jpg" data-width="180" data-height="180" alt="" style="background-image: url(&quot;https://website.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/gallery-shop-4-180x180.jpg&quot;);"></div> </a>

Without seeing it on the site live, it can be hard to say what specifically might be going on, however, I would suggest that it’s probably because they don’t have an img defined in there as such. You could try enabling our lazy loader to see if it can help in getting those (and making sure others are turned off) as that can sometimes help in getting some.

Otherwise, I would need to look at it closer to see it in action. If you could either post your system info (from the support tab of the plugin) to a pastebin link or contact me directly at: https://ewww.io/contact-us/

Got it and replied, thanks! I will resolve this here and we can discuss the issue there.

What was the outcome of this? I have a similar situation.

For the gallery images (not thumbnails) I think WC’s wc_get_gallery_image_html function messes with the attributes passed to wp_get_attachment_image. If I stop it doing that then it breaks the gallery functionality (obviously) but ewww’s “Picture WebP Rewriting” functionality works as expect.

    Perhaps the two aren’t compatible.

I would welcome your input though. Thanks

    Hi Ben,

This had to do with an elementor lighbox conflict. As each site is different, I would recommend contacting us directly and we’ll gladly have a look! It would also help to send over your system info from the support tab of the plugin settings up front: [email protected]

I’ve decided not to use WC’s gallery and instead build my own. More control ??

    But thank you
