I agree, very interested/need to know how WooCommerce will be compliant with GDPR.

I agree a bit of deal breaker on using woocommerce in the future

One thing that will have to be in place is a checkbox where people have to OPT IN to agree to you being allowed to process their data.
This cannot be combined with other Terms and Conditions, it must be a checkbox of its own, which is unchecked by default.

Ditto – This is becoming a very important topic and we will need some sort of confirmation of how WooCommerce plans to proceed asap.

Interested to know more about this and when WOO will be issuing some sort of plugin to take care of the GDPR rules.

We’re working on more concrete information, but the best advice I can give you right now is look into it for yourself – while there will be common changes needed, each site will have its own specific nuances.

Simply:

*You should all implement a Terms/Statement Page inc. your GDPR process … on your WordPress sites and make sure it is very clear about how you store data, use data, and offer a process for the supply of or the deletion of data when your clients request such.

All Forms, Checkouts or any type of an online form or data collection (even MailChimp, Contact Form 7, etc) should also clearly state this* and have an option for users to tick/approve your statements and you should keep records of all these approvals too.

A statement on how you store data, where, your security processes, and how you cope with the GDPR EU/UK disaster recovery alert process should also be stated*

Can you update us on what changes there will be to WooCommerce before the May deadline and when we can expect these please?

Are you adding anything new to the plugin that will facilitate the easy review and removal of personal data or is that tied up with the changes to the WordPress core itself?

I love the way people are rushing to profit from GDPR. It’s difficult enough trying to traverse this complicated compliance, without having to filter the money vultures circling above you trying to make a buck.
