• Sorry ,,, I checked This topic is not a support question by accident. This is a re-post.
Background – I have simple & variable products defined.
    WooCommerce Settings
Shipping Method – Free shipping ENABLED. (No other shipping method is
enabled). No requirements for Free Shipping. (We always provide free
    shipping to our customers).
Scenario: [note – occurs for simple and variable products].
    a) Select product & variation desired, proceed to VIEW cart.
    b) When I VIEW my cart, “Free Shipping” is NOT shown.
c)Then I select ‘Calculate Shipping’, then ‘Update Totals’ “Free Shipping” is shown.
    d) Then I clear the cart. Select any product & “Free Shipping” is shown. When I close my Incognito window & re-run, the problem happens again. When I have selected ‘Update Totals’ once (in the browser, without closing it), the “Free Shipping” is shown.

Once ‘Calculate Shipping’ / Update Totals is selected, “Free Shipping” will show in Chrome all the time. (In incognito any time within the same session. Once ingognitgo is closed, it acts like the first time). Seems like once “free shipping” is ‘established’ in a browser, it stays.

Requirement: When I set “Free Shipping” method, free shipping should show AND ‘calculate shipping’ should not, as it’s not necessary. Is this possible?

    WooCommerce version: 3.09
Browser: Tested in both Chrome & Chrome Incognito
    Thanks for your help,
    Bob

This is an incorrect assumption – what if the customer has two addresses and would like to check which one has cheaper shipping?

    Riaan,

    Thanks for your reply.

In my business, I sell/ship to customers in North America (U.S & Canada). I want to provide free shipping to all customers, regardless of where they live in these regions.

Is what I want to do unreasonable in this circumstance? What have I missed?

I just don’t want the customer to see ‘Calculate Shipping’ link on the CART page.
Again, there are NO restrictions for Free Shipping.

I even tried setting the minimum price to 1.00 in order to get Free Shipping. This did not make any difference.

    Thanks,
    Bob
