    Hi community,
im using woocommerce with the woocomerce event pro plugin from “MagePeople”

I have a special situation , i want to sell for one event two different tickets (so far no problem) but each ticket should have a different tax rate:
so ticket one cost (e.g.) 100$ and is connected with 20% taxrate – the other ticket cost 50$ and is connected with 10% taxrate.

    “MagePeople” wrote me:

I am sorry we don’t have the feature as you mentioned. Price and Tax calculation is controlled by Woo Commerce. and it is based on a product.

You can set tax based on event. and we can not implement tax based on event ticket type. and it is not possible

So my question to “WooCommerce” or in general the community is there a option (or addon / plugin) to get this ?!

    Many thanks

    Hi @surfacetom,

Yes, you can start by creating two additional tax classes with the respective tax rates. From there, go to the specific products (tickets in your case) and in the product data section, assign each product to a certain tax class.

For reference, kindly check these guides:

    I hope this helps.

Thanks for your input, i try to check this, but the tax configurations is a bit difficult to understand.

Furthermore i guess the options which are shown at your links, are not set at the Event/Ticket Plugin:

screenshots from my test Event and the tickets:

At the WC tax settings is already the 2 taxes set (standard and reduced)

Hmm, those screenshots seem to be based on the events plugin you’re using and isn’t something that the core WooCommerce plugin would have any direct control over (My colleague’s reply was based on how taxation works for standard WooCommerce products).

Moving forward, we recommend getting in touch with the developers of your events plugin to take a closer look at configuring multiple tax classes for event-based products.

I receive a new answer but it seems a bit neither woocommerce nor the plugin developer have an workaround for this.
i wonder why because it seems that in germany, austria and also netherlands (maybe more countries) has different taxes, so i need a solution to fix this events based tax problem

Tax issue we can not customize as it is related to a single woocommerce product.

Currently we are creating a single Woocommerce product hiddenly. if we want to create customization tax based on ticket type then we have to create hidden product for each ticket type that is not easy and it will hazard full system. thats why we recommend to create event based on tax. so that you can setup tax rate base on event type not ticket type.

hope you understood issue behind this.

    thanks

    Hi @surfacetom,

Thanks for sharing these messages. From the interaction with the plugin support, it seems that the limitation here has to do with the events plugin that you’re using.

With this in mind, you can ask them to guide you on how to set up the option “create event based on tax” that they’ve mentioned in their reply. We’re only able to assist on the WooCommerce side of things, so the plugin support is best placed to advise you if you choose to go this route.

Alternatively, you can also consider using a different events plugin that’s easier to configure taxes on if the issue becomes much of a hassle with the current plugin. You’re welcome to check if this plugin can meet your needs: https://woocommerce.com/products/tickets-woocommerce/
