    Hello WooCommerce team,

    I activated the “Enable this to only allow one of this item to be bought in a single order” option in WooCommerce.

    Thus, when users add more than one of the same item, an error message like this should appear “You cannot add another “Product X” to your cart.” Let’s use Product X as the example.

    However, what’s strange is that the error message does not appear on the page where Product X is added twice. Instead, it only appears on a different product page (eg. when a user navigates to Product Y page) and then the error message for Product X would appear at the top.

    Can someone help me out please?

    Hi there!

    That’s definitely not expected behavior.

    For further investigation, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status.
    Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

    @aashik Thank you.

    I think I may know where the error lies. I am not using the default WooCommerce Add To Cart button. Instead, I am using a Custom Add To Cart button with code that adds products to cart. This is why the WooCommerce error messages are not showing up right away.

    Is there a way to get WooCommerce error messages to work with Custom Add To Cart buttons?

    Thank you.

    Just to make sure that I’m understanding correctly, the problem is only with customizations active in the store?

    I’m asking because if that’s the case, the best way forward would be to reach out to the devs that helped you with the customization so that they can point you in the right direction.

    If you’re having trouble with the same, with just WooCommerce as the installed plugin, and no other customizations added (even via theme), please do let us know.

    We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
