Woocommerce empty/clear cart on page / New order ID for each payment

  • I want woocommerce to clear the cart automatically even if the order fails, due to how my payment gateway works. (Even if the orders fails and the same order ID is forwarded then the payment gateway declines it saying that the order ID is already processed with the merchant.)

    Hence I want woocommerce to assign a new order ID for each payment/Invoice so I guess clearing the cart on the order received page could be a solution.

    Anyone with a solution or how can I clear the cart/session automatically so that a new order ID is created every time the customer tries to pay.

    I’m looking for this functionality too. Has anyone got ideas on how to implement?

    This is causing a lot of issues with my online shop as many customers have come back to me with problems. Even though I explain to them that they need to clear their cart some are still having problems with this.
