When Yoast is enabled the product edit page take around 60 sec to load.
If I disabled Yoast the loading time is 2-3 sec.

I have around 3000 product attributes and 500 categories, is there something in Yoast that make is slow with many attributes/categories?
Something I can disable in Yoast to speed it up?

The frontend is fast and everything else in admin, it’s just product listning page and product edit page that is very slow (especially edit page).

I have a very good server with lots of extra power enabled, so it’s not the server.

  • Hi @herjafader

Thanks for reaching out, and we apologize for the difficulties the plugin is causing you. We would like some more information.

    1. Are you running the latest version of the Yoast SEO plugin(v19.6)?

    2. Are all the non-Yoast plugins, themes and WordPress also updated?

    3. Can you check if your website is meeting the necessary plugin requirements: https://yoast.com/help/plugin-requirements/. You can often find these details by going to Tools > Site Health > Info in WordPress.

    4. Can you please confirm whether you have performed the SEO data optimization from the Yoast SEO → Tools page?

    5. If you go to Yoast SEO > General > Features, does turning any of them off improve the page load times?

    6. On a post or page which is slowing down, if you check for JavaScript errors, do any appear on that page in the backend? Can you describe them or take a screenshot? If you are not sure how to look for JavaScript errors, please use this guide https://yoast.com/help/how-to-find-javascript-errors-with-your-browsers-console/.

You can use a tool like: https://pasteboard.co/ to share the image.

    7. Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty.

Please test this on your development or staging site if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

If you feel uncomfortable doing this yourself or if this does not solve your issue, our Yoast SEO Premium plugin comes with one year of (technical) support.
