WooCommerce Dynamic Gallery No image description option

WC version:3.1.2
The new Dynamic Gallery does not seem to provide an option to add the product variation description – how do I add this information.
This is critical for the customer – not even the Alt or Title Descriptions are showing.
Compare when you click on the image to show in main window.
