Hi, I have a problem with Woocommerce. We sell to customers mainly from Spain and Portugal two types of products: boxes and pallets of products.

The pallets have a shipping class that applies a surcharge because it is more expensive to ship them. In sales to Spain there is no problem, but when it comes to Portugal, Woocommerce in some orders (not all of them) does not consider the pallet shipping class and does not apply the surcharge, which makes the customer pay less than the shipping cost and causes me losses.

Has this happened to anyone or do you know how to solve it?

  • Hey there, @pablofreelance6! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

Do you see any similarities between those orders besides being from Portugal? Do they have the same payment gateway or method? Do they have the same specific product? Similar address?

Can you please share a screenshot of the order notes on those? Please remove any sensitive information before sharing it here. I recommend using https://snipboard.io. You can share the direct link to the image as a response to this topic.

Here’s an example of what we need:

Can you please share some screenshots to help us investigate this further?

    We need screenshots of:

    • WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping
    • WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Click on Edit on a Shipping Zone
    • WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > Click on Edit on a Shipping Zone > Click on edit on each shipping method so we can check the specific settings
    • The cart/checkout page with the issue

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

Thank you very much for your reply, carolm20.

I think I’ve finally managed to solve it!
I’m explaining it here in case it can be of help to anyone who has the same problem.

In my case, I use the WPML plugin to translate the content of the website in different languages. It turns out that in the Woocommerce settings, in one of the tabs, there is an option to translate the shipping classes to other languages. If you don’t translate them, the website doesn’t apply them. And it seems that by translating them, it does.

I’m still watching to confirm that this is the case, and I’ll keep you posted if I see anything new.

    Hello @pablofreelance6,

It’s great to hear that you’ve found a workaround by translating the shipping classes using the WPML plugin. This could be related to how WooCommerce and WPML handle multilingual content. Please continue to monitor the situation and let us know if you encounter any more issues.

Your contribution is much appreciated and will indeed be helpful to other community members facing the same issue.

In the meantime, I’ll go ahead and mark this thread as resolved.
