My Wocommerce database has been updating for 2 months, or at least stuck in that state

I assume the issue was outdated WordPress and PHP at the time, but since then I have updated both to the latest stable version. But the Wocommerce database is still stuck in updating, I tried to trigger it manually, and all the scheduled actions are stuck in pending for the last 17h. I also have a lot of pending scheduled actions for woocommerce_run_update (98).

Additionally I duplicated my website using duplicator plugin and ran it locally with wamp64 and after I updated WordPress on the local version the Woocommerce databse update seemingly completed. I don’t know how, as I didn’t do anything special, besides updating WordPress.

    These are my fatal errors:
    2024-01-13T09:49:30+00:00 CRITICAL syntax error, unexpected ”top: 0; left: 0; z-index: -10′ (T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING) in /var/www/clients/client98/web261/web/wp-content/themes/lay/functions.php on line 126

2024-01-13T09:49:53+00:00 CRITICAL syntax error, unexpected ‘top’ (T_STRING) in /var/www/clients/client98/web261/web/wp-content/themes/lay/functions.php on line 126

    2024-01-13T09:50:28+00:00 CRITICAL syntax error, unexpected ‘$url’ (T_VARIABLE) in /var/www/clients/client98/web261/web/wp-content/themes/lay/functions.php on line 126

2024-01-13T09:56:27+00:00 CRITICAL syntax error, unexpected ‘if’ (T_IF) in /var/www/clients/client98/web261/web/wp-content/themes/lay/functions.php on line 126

2024-01-13T09:57:40+00:00 CRITICAL syntax error, unexpected ‘<‘ in /var/www/clients/client98/web261/web/wp-content/themes/lay/functions.php on line 127

2024-01-13T10:00:10+00:00 CRITICAL syntax error, unexpected ‘return’ (T_RETURN) in /var/www/clients/client98/web261/web/wp-content/themes/lay/functions.php on line 131

2024-01-13T10:00:26+00:00 CRITICAL syntax error, unexpected ‘,’, expecting ‘;’ in /var/www/clients/client98/web261/web/wp-content/themes/lay/functions.php on line 131

    2024-01-13T10:00:49+00:00 CRITICAL syntax error, unexpected ‘$html’ (T_VARIABLE), expecting ‘;’ in /var/www/clients/client98/web261/web/wp-content/themes/lay/functions.php on line 131

But they don’t seem to match up with the scheduled actions (time wise)

    woocommerce_run_update_callback was scheduled on 2024-01-30 13:31:33 +0000

I also just saw that there was one completed woocommerce_run_update_callback but immediately after that another one was scheduled that is still pending…

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi there @gentleswaif,

Thanks for sharing a detailed description about the issue you are facing. I’ll be happy to help you through the troubleshooting process.

after that another one was scheduled that is still pending…

You can manually run the pending updates by heading over to WooCommerce > Status > Scheduled Actions > Pending and click on run to manually trigger the update.

Looking at the shared error logs, most of the critical errors are coming from your theme. I would recommend reaching out to the theme developer for further assistance.

As you mentioned, the update worked just fine in your local environment, it is also possible that your host/server environment has limited resources. Please try to check the server settings on your live site and compare the same resources with that on your local environment.

Let us know how it goes.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.
