    Hi,

Since (I don’t know how long?) WooCommerce I have noticed that WooCommerce created new pages (with the block editor):
    – Checkout
    – Cart
    – Shop
    – My Account

I alredy had all those pages created with the “classic editor” and now I also have those pages created with the new block editor.
So now all those pages are duplicated in my WP admin! And I’ve noticed that WooCommerce automatically assigned those newly created pages to the Cart/Checkout/Shop/My Account pages in WooCommerce – Parameters – Advanced.
The problem is that I also use WPML to have my website in several languages and since this change I cannot have the Cart/Checkout etc pages in the other languages anymore.

Why did WooCommerce created a new version of those pages with the block editors whereas they already existed?
What should I do with the “old” duplicated pages? Should I delete them?

Thank you in advance for you help.

The problem also is that I have now a “https://www.mywebsitecom/cart/” page (= old page created with the old editor) and a “https://www.mywebsitecom/cart-2/” page (= new page created by WooCommerce with the new block editor)

    Hi @fotske,

WooCommerce creates those four pages via the Setup Wizard and you can read more about this here:

    https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-pages/

To tell WooCommerce what pages to use for Cart, Checkout, My Account, go to WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced. Select the page ID to use.

Then, for the Shop page select the correct one within WooCommerce > Settings > Products.

Once you’ve done and you made sure that you’re using the old pages, you can delete the newly created ones.

    Thanks.

    Dear Mirko P. (@rainfallnixfig),

    Thank you for your answer.

I did not re-run the WooCommerce setup wizard since I already have my website created with WooCommerce since several years.
So it’s strange that WooCommerce created a new “block version” of those pages. Is it normal or not?

I don’t know if I should keep the old pages (made with the “Classic editor” several years ago when I created my website) or if I should now use the new pages made by WooCommerce with the “block editor”). Is there a difference between both?

And other question: imagine that I want to keep the new pages (for example “cart-2”), can I delete the original “cart” page and rename the “cart-2” page in “cart”? How can I do that (modifying the URL)?

Thank you very much for your help.

That’s very strange! I have not heard of this happening before as WooCommerce would only create those during the setup wizard or if the page creation was manually run under WooCommerce > Status > Tools. By default, WooCommerce would only create those pages if it was manually requested.

I don’t know if I should keep the old pages (made with the “Classic editor” several years ago when I created my website) or if I should now use the new pages made by WooCommerce with the “block editor”). Is there a difference between both?

Whichever you prefer to use is fine – there’s no requirement to use one or the other.

And other question: imagine that I want to keep the new pages (for example “cart-2”), can I delete the original “cart” page and rename the “cart-2” page in “cart”? How can I do that (modifying the URL)?

You should be able to do this. If you’re referring to the page URL, you should be able to change that in the page settings.

It doesn’t seem so strange because as I can see on the screenshot that @rainfallnixfig sent, he also seems to have to different Checkout pages (“ID:8” (which should be the original page) and “ID: 3900” (which was probably created later by WooCommerce)).

    Why does this happen?

Page IDs are different for every website because it depends on the number of pages you already have.

    Why does this happen?

I tried reproducing the issue but couldn’t, so I can’t determine why it happened. I guess it could be a plugin conflict with WooCommerce.

In your case, simply delete the duplicate pages and set the correct one you want. You could also modify the slug using this guide: https://www.hostinger.com/tutorials/what-is-a-wordpress-slug/
