    Hi,

I’m experiencing some trouble with my host service and woocommerce. The service has a CPU quota that seems to be exceeded by my e-shop.

In particular my technician said that there are some auto-call from the server to himself, that seems to be the cause of the problem. The requests are of this kind:

    xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx - [24/May/2019:23:19:34 +0200] "GET /wc-api/v2/products/1570?consumer_key=*******&consumer_secret=***** HTTP/1.0" 200 4390 "-" "WooCommerce API Client-PHP/2.0.1"

I wanted to ask if it’s normal that such a request is CUP consuming, and in any case if it’s possibile to reduce the resource requirement in any way.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey there,

Thanks for including the message! That’s an API call asking for information about a specific product. Lots of API calls could indeed put a strain on server resources. I’d check into which external services your site is using and make fewer requests.

If you aren’t using any external services which need access to your site, I’d recommend refreshing the API keys so that your site can’t be accessed via the API. You can do that via WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > REST API.

    Hi, thanks for your answer.
I have identified the request source, and indeed it’s an expected request. Is the CPU charge of an API request comparable to a page request from an user that is navigating in my e-shop?

I had 3 request in 2 days.. to give an idea of the number of requests

    Hi there,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

    Kind regards,
