This happens on both my staging site and live site with jetpack 10.5

Woocommerce 5.9.0 installed also (no way was I upgrading a massive live store with a 6.0 product)

I am experiencing 2 issues. When I did the upgrade to 10.5 on the sites, they both complained and sent me an error message

    WordPress version 5.8.3
Current theme: Hello Elementor (version 2.4.2)
    Current plugin: Jetpack (version 10.5)
    PHP version 7.4.27

    Error Details
    =============
An error of type E_COMPILE_ERROR was caused in line 90 of the file /------------/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/vendor/jetpack-autoloader/class-php-autoloader.php. Error message: require(): Failed opening required '/----------/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/vendor/automattic/jetpack-roles/src/class-roles.php' (include_path='.:/opt/cpanel/ea-php74/root/usr/share/pear:/---------/public_html/wp-content/plugins/payment-module/includes')

It seemed it was working fine however and said it was at 10.5…but I have seen you guys say that that is normal for this upgrade in other threads?

SO here’s my two issues. I am running woocommmerce, and if I am not logged in, add to cart, and then try to login as a returning customer, the little overlay ajax wheel spins for a second, goes away, then comes back after it logs in and just sits there and spins….it never logs in and I have to refresh the page, and then it’s logged in. Can’t have customers doing that. In the console during the overlay spinning I saw this

[Error] WebSocket connection to ‘wss://public-api.wordpress.com/pinghub/wpcom/me/newest-note-data’ failed: WebSocket is closed due to suspension.

    Then there’s this.

My terms and conditions checkbox, when the page loads, the terms and conditions are there for a second to click on, then the link going to my terms and conditions is gone when the spinning overlay wheel goes away. Until the upgrade, this always worked…as people would click it and the terms would slide down to be displayed. Now, nothing.

But get this – Unless I enable a second payment option besides my payment gateway, such as cash on delivery. The link is not there with then page loads, but if I change to cash on delivery, the link shows back up for terms and conditions, I can then change back to the credit card payment gateway and it’s still there. That is unacceptable, as we have to take online payment only through our payment gateway.

I have had to deactivate and disconnect jetpack for now. Please advise.

Update – after messing with this (I get too focused on any one thing all the time) I noticed in the console that I was seeing rocket.js being blocked – yes, I use cloudflare, and yes I had rocket loader enabled on all of my staging sites (to try to keep the settings the same). I disabled rocket loader on the 2nd staging site, and boom, it worked – the terms and conditions link still disappears so not sure about that but lets move on.

I re-enabled jetpack on my live site, but AFTER i disabled rocket loader on cloudflare, and did a test – BOOM! it worked. HOwever, the the terms and conditions link still disappears. It’s there for a split second, but then goes away. Still have to figure that one out.

So, if you are using a combination of jetpack/woocommerce/cloudflare (with rocket loader enabled) and you see this same issue, turn off rocket loader and see if it solves your problem.

So my woocommerce terms and conditions text from the woocommerce settings defaults back to the theme customized text…i just changed it to include [terms] in the default text in appearance – customize -woocommerce – checkout and it’s switches back to that text which now includes a link to my terms. Who knows what’s going on but at least theres a workaround, even though the customer will see the terms text change by the checkbox for a split second if they pay attention ??
