    Hi there,

I wanted to check if there are any updates on this topic?
I’ve seen a discussion from over a year ago. Has there been any update since then?

Apparently other plugins (which I don’t want to use for some reasons), offer blocks for the VAT ID that you can in the page builder.
Is there sth. similar for your plugin?

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Kind regards,
    Laurent

  • Hi @biiissen,
    ?
    Thanks for reaching out.
    ?
Could you please elaborate on the issue? Do you want to block the checkout page from being processed for some VAT ID?

    Please let us know.

    Kind regards.

    Hi @moshtafizur01,

    thanks for your reply.

Oh I guess I didn’t explain myself very well.
I want to collect the businesses VAT ID in the checkout process.
I’m using the block based checkout in Woo, and am wondering how to get the input field to appear.

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Kind regards,
    Laurent

    Hi @biissen,

We’re still working on this, as it’s not still fully compatible by Woo (under active development):

    https://woo.com/document/cart-checkout-blocks-status/ (under Extensions?section)

We are waiting more compatibility options from Woo on this, but we’re still looking for ways to make the plugin work better on block checkout.

    Hi @omardabbas,

    thanks for your quick response!

You say “make the plugin work better on block checkout”. Is there currently a way to get it to work at all?

    Kind regards,
    Laurent

    @biissen,

Sorry I wasn’t that clear, since it’s not what you would expect when you hear “work better”, but if you’re just looking to add the field, try adding it using field_id:

    _billing_eu_vat_number

But to be straight-forward, it won’t work as you would expect. We’re in contact with Woo to move things faster.

    Hi @omardabbas,

thanks again for your quick response.

But where do I add said field_id? I mean there is no real way to add fields in block based checkout. Or I’m not getting it?

    Thanks for your patience! ??

    Laurent

Sorry @biissen, I just checked with our development team and they confirmed that the provided field_id won’t even work on a block checkout page, we’re prioritizing working on this and hopefully Woo will provide more compatibility options soon.

    Apologize for the mis-communication.

    Hi @omardabbas,

    no problem.

I was already questioning if I’m just too stupid to do it… ??

I’ll wait then and check the function at later point in time again.
Do you have any guess how long the development will take?

    Kind regards,
    Laurent

Not at all, it was my bad.

I guess in the next 2 months, since it’s not only on our side but depends on Woo development as well.

I will come back here and nudge you when we have more updates on this.

    Omar

    Hey Omar

Could you please clarify this in plugin description. Knowing this after 3 hours of install and fix is just not cool.

A big fat <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>NOT COMPATIBLE WITH BLOCK THEME CHECKOUT</span> would be fair and the least you could do!

    Thx
