recently took over the management of a website for my client and the previous developer had connected WooCommerce plugins, including WooCommerce Subscriptions, to their personal WooCommerce.com account. Unfortunately, the developer is no longer reachable, and I cannot access or manage the extensions because they appear as “blank” or unlinked when I try to disconnect them from his store.

I would like to:

1. Disconnect the extensions from the previous developer’s WooCommerce.com account.
2. Reconnect them to my client’s WooCommerce.com account so they can manage the licenses and updates moving forward.

My primary concern is whether disconnecting or reinstalling these plugins will impact the existing subscription or customer data. Will all subscription-related data (customers, orders, and payments) remain intact in the database if I disconnect or delete/reinstall the WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin?

If this is not possible, what steps can I take to resolve this situation while ensuring my client retains full control over their store and subscription data?

Thank you for your guidance!

Hi @woodchuckarts,

Thank you for reaching out.

I understand your concern about transferring the WooCommerce paid plugins from a developer’s account to the client’s account. While this forum mainly focuses on the WooCommerce core plugin, I would recommend you take a look at our guide on how to transfer a paid extension from our guide here.

Should you need further assistance with this, please feel free to contact us at Woo.com?> My Account > Support. You may need to create an account before you can access that page.
Please include a link to this forum thread, so that we can keep track of what’s already been done.

We will be able to help you further there.
