woocommerce category links not working

Hi @multifab,

I tried opening one of your category pages but it seems that the site is down at the moment. You could try performing the conflict test to check if there’s a plugin/theme conflict with WooCommerce.

The best way to determine this is to:

• Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
• Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
• Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

Hello abwaita

No site is not down, thats what the issue is, the shop page opens perfect, the product page opens perfect but the category page gives the error, which you too faced, and that solution I am looking for, conflict test done and I got following answers:

1. It seems a theme issue, I must contact the theme guys: theme guys asked me to give them FTP access of the site, which I gave them and they have not contacted back since a week

2. Upon more research I found, it is a very common issue with woocommerce and surprisingly woocommerce never attempted to resolve it.

I am not very techie guy, I tried permalink setting etc, but everything seems fine, I did fine one paid plugin, which talkes abt the solution to this problem but I dont know weather to trust him or not, here is the linlo:

This might not be related to the 404 error or permalinks that are discussed in the article you shared.

You mentioned that your theme authors are looking into it but maybe you could also share with us some info to see if we can understand the issue better. Kindly share with us:

Checking the error logs, I see that the fatal errors listed are connected to your theme. Thus, it was a good call to inform them in the first place.

Going forward, you might either want to switch to a different theme as the developers work on the issue.

Also, just to check, are the category pages accessible when you switch to a different theme?

*If you do not wish to test this on your production site, you could test on a staging site instead. I can recommend the WP Staging plugin for spinning up a staging site.

Thanks for your words and time, its so encouraging. Now I hv a question for you, theme guys have not replied yet, its been a week, so in worst case scenario if they didnt turn up, I am actually all ready with my website, only this issue is pending, so what you suggest if they dont solve this issue, what can I do to resolve this.

It seems my theme guy are not competent enough, all they did is that they removed the sidebar itself wherein the categories were showing but the links were not working.
