    Hi @rezamnchr

The problem is that the parent category and child category are showing vice verse in the front end and WooCommerce products page. It seems there is an alphabetic order between them.

I’ve reviewed all your screenshots, and it appears that the primary category you’ve chosen for your products might be the cause of the issue.

You’ve selected “Add-ons” as your product’s primary category, which is why the system shows it first, followed by the rest of your product list in the back end.

By the way, to troubleshoot the issue, you can make “DIGITAL PRODUCTS” the primary category and check whether it makes any difference.

As a troubleshooting step, why not try setting “DIGITAL PRODUCTS” as your primary category and see if that changes things?

Furthermore, when it comes to the front end, you may need to contact the theme developer since they control the breadcrumbs and other things.

I hope this provides some clarity. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

I have other child categories that are selected as the primary category, but they are shown after the parent category. for example, here “Prints” is my primary category and it’s shown after “DIGITAL PRODUCT” because it’s ordered in alphabetic default.

    DIGITAL PRODUCTS, Prints

I can’t change my primary category because the child category is the related category for my product, but I did it as you said. I checked “DIGITAL PRODUCT” as my primary category and this problem still exists.
I also have another parent category called “PHYSICAL PRODUCT”. I created a child category called “Accessories”. This problem happens to it too. It’s shown this way in the WooCommerce products page: Accessories, PHYSICAL PRODUCT
This problem happens whenever the child category has alphabetic letters that are ahead of the Parent category alphabetic letter.
Is there any snippets code to disable this alphabetic ordering?

    Hi @rezamnchr

It seems one of your plugins, custom code, or themes might be causing this issue. Because I couldn’t replicate the same behavior on my testing site.

The best way to determine this is to:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront or Twenty Twenty-Four
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

I hope that helps! Let me know once you have done a conflict test!

Hello @rezamnchr you are using the categories incorrectly. If Digital Products is your primary category why then assign Add Ons and any other child category as a primary?

You’re complicating things by adding a sub primary in my opinion. Here’s a screenshot of me doing exactly what you need done without any hooks etc. Where Digital Products is the primary and Add Ons the child. Just leave any child unchecked as the primary. There’s no need for that.

    Thanks a lot @shameemreza, @serafinnyc

    Hello @shameemreza
I disabled all plugins and switched to my default theme, But the problem still exists.

    Hello @serafinnyc
You are right. I’m new to WooCommerce, Add-ons is my primary category. I used to think if I chose a child category, I should also choose its parent category too. Now I only choose Add-ons and update my product. my breadcrumb is being shown in the correct way now.
