    We are using Woocommerce shopping cart with PayPal Standard; no API.
    When an order comes in, the money goes through, PayPal receives the payment, but our cart automatically changes the status to CANCELLED, and sends an email to the customer telling them the order has been cancelled. In the orders themselves, in the admin, there is the following note:

    Dismiss this notice.
    Toggle panel: Order notes
    Unpaid order cancelled – time limit reached. Order status changed from Pending payment to Cancelled.

    Have called PayPal, and they tell me it’s a Woocommerce issue, not with PayPal. Any ideas?

  • I’m also having this issue. Not all transactions are being cancelled, but some are. Woo commerce and the database are up to date. Was able to recreate in edge. All required fields but the two dropdown menus have the green highlight around them.

    Hi there,

    The fact that your order status is being changed to “Cancelled” (even if payments go through) indicates an IPN issue.

    Please double-check if the PayPal IPN url is correct:

    Hi, if I’m reading the initial post correctly and they’re have the same issue as I am, the issue is not on the payment side. When you fill out the form, it does not “unlock” the “Proceed to Paypal” button, and just stays on the form page. The plugin eventually says the payment “times out” because the user never gets to click on the “Proceed to Paypal” link.

    Hi there,

    The OP mentions that the payment goes through but the Unpaid order cancelled – time limit reached. Order status changed from Pending payment to Cancelled note is added. This is an indication of an IPN issue.

    In your case does the payment goes through? If it doesn’t – I’d recommend opening a new thread.
