    Hi,

When I have the woocommerce plugin activated the button to accept a friend request in buddypress only works when opened in a new tab. If you click on it regularly it does nothing. When I deactivate the Woocommerce plugin the problem is solved. How can I fix this issue? I need both Woocommerce and Buddypress on my site.

The issue still occurs when I activate the default wordpress theme and the problem is thus not theme related and is completely due to the Woocommerce plugin.

I have the latest version of all the plugins listed. I also raised this question at the buddypress support but they told me that it is a woocommerce issue.

If you want to see the issue please create an account at https://www.poke-spot.com and I will send you a friend request.

    Thank you in advance.

@dekoningalex When you’re on the page with the broken button, can you right click and choose to Inspect the button? Once the browser explorer comes up, are there any JavaScript errors listed in the console? If so, would you be able to take a screen shot and include them here? Screenshots can be shared with https://snag.gy/

@dekoningalex If you deactivate the plugin using the Google Maps API, does the issue still occur? Just trying to rule out other conflicts here.

I have deactivated all the plugins besides woocommerce, buddypress and the problem still occured, also in the default wordpress theme. It isn’t a plugin that tries to use the API for google maps but a (turned off) option within the theme. But seeing that the issue isn’t theme related, I doubt that could be causing the problem.

@dekoningalex It’s odd that this only happens when WooCommerce is active. Do you have any security modules running at the server level? I ask because when clicking the button I get a 403 response, which is access forbidden. I did go to the link directly and it worked, it’s just something about the AJAX call.

Can you confirm what is adding the ?v=7516fd43adaa string to the end of the URLs? I noticed that when trying to activate my account the link did not work, I had to copy/paste the activation key in.

Yes, that is the ‘Relevanssi’ plugin, for better search on the site, I’ve tried the accept button with this plugin deactivated, still didn’t work.

No additional security on server level either.

That is the first time I found out about the activation issue. I am going to try and find out which plugin is causing this. Thanks for investigating, this might have something to do with the friendship button not working as well.

@dekoningalex No problem. Our hands are tied a bit with not being able to fully debug sites due to forum rules. I would recommend making a copy with WP Staging to test with so that your users are not effected. If you do go that route, I’d also recommend Stop Emails and WP Mail Log so that no emails will go out, but you can still see what is sent.

My knowledge what debugging is concerned doesn’t go much further than deactivating a plugin that is causing the problem, and remove it. By no means do I have the knowledge to solve this issue alone. Any other tips are hence more than welcome.

I’ve tried deactivating all the plugins besides woocommerce and buddypress, and the activation issue is still there as well…

    Hi Jesse,

I’ve investigated the issue further and have come to the following error information:

Console in Firefox gives this error:

    XML Parsing Error: unclosed token
    Location: https://www.poke-spot.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=kleo_bp_ajax_call&current_notifications=0
    Line Number 1, Column 1:

In Chrome when i specifically find where the error is in the file jquery.js –>

    Hello again,

@dekoningalex the error you posted sounds as if there is a verification or authentication error. Without knowing where kleo_bp_ajax_call is coming from it is hard to pinpoint this. You can do a full text search through all of the files in your web root folder to find out where the file is being used.
Your screenshot also shows a forbidden error which fits the above.
